Recycled Energy Greenhouse underway

Construction has begun.

Plans for the heat-recovery system in the recycled energy greenhouse are shaping up better than we expected. Using recycled car radiators, we aim to recover and store heat from the laundromat dryer exhausts, the bakery exhaust, and from solar heat in the greenhouse itself. A few days ago, it was 44 C in the greenhouse, and 5 C outside! There may be enough energy available not only to heat the greenhouse at night, but ALSO to help to heat the building itself!

New Hazelton may soon be home to a solar heated bakery and laundromat! Stay tuned for more photos and info as the project progresses.
